Scale Remover Solutions for Ship’s Thermal and Refrigerant without Stopping System
Descaling Mitreh for Ships
The water used by ships and most vessels includes fresh water, sea water and boiler water. All cooling systems in the ship are cooled by a freshwater circuit called Low Temperature (LT). LT water is used to cool generators, compressors, cold stores, oils, diesels and….
There is a High Temperature (HT) system alongside this system that is specific to the main engine. The HT system is jacket water closed cycle of the main engine which, enters the HT cooler and is cooled by LT water after cooling the engine body and passing the Engine Air Cooler.
The Sea Water system on the ship and other vessels has an open system which is used in the Heat Exchanger depending on the type of vessel to cool the LT water.
The water used for the boiler of the vessel is necessarily distilled water and the system is closed cycle. The water system has two parts, the boiler inlet water and the boiler water drum.
Due to the importance of these systems and creation of scale in the waterways and the reduction of heat exchange, scale removing is essential. The Ship Sard Mitreh for refrigerant system MKD0110 is formulated for LT system scale removing and the Ship Industrial scale remover Mitreh MKD1120 is for the scale removing of the HT system and boiler related facilities. Scale removing and restoring the system with Sard Solutions for ships will bring the installation back to the designated zero point and result in increased efficiency, reduced depreciation and reduced energy consumption.
Corrosion of Sard Mitreh 10-20 mpy is very low compared to the existing types of descalers having corrosion between 70-980 mpy and this feature makes it possible to circulate Mitreh with fluid (water) and removing scales of all parts of the facility easily and without stopping the ship at the Docked.
Another benefit of scale removing in piping and installation is reducing erosion corrosion.
Calibration of using Ship Sard Mitreh Solution:
First, the amount of scale in the system must be calculated. Therefore, if you are in doubt about the estimated amount of scales, it is recommended that you consult with a technical expert in the offices of the Abrizan Company. Estimated per kilo of sediment, 2 liters of MKD1120 Ship Sard Mitreh solution for HT systems and boiler installations and 3 liters of MKD0110 Ship Sard Mitreh solution for LT systems should be injected into the ciecuit without stoping system.
- First, add the calculated solution to the water and circulate for 15 minutes. Then allow the solution remain stationary for 2to 3 hours to soak the scales.
- After the elapsed time, circulate the system fluid with the pump and repeat the circulation for 30 to 40 minutes. Then allow the solution to remain stationary for 1 to 2 hours.
- Re-start the pumps and re-circulate the fluid and then discharge water and sediments completely after 40 to 50 minutes.
- After the above steps, rinse the system thoroughly twice and drain the remaining water and sediment completely.
- After the above operation, if there is sediment in the system repeat the above steps with one-second to one-third the initial amount (depending on the amount of sediment remaining), and drain the system water completely.
- After complete circuit washing, dewatering the system with light water (RO water, DM or …) and use the ship industrial Mitreh solutions (MKS1061) and (MKS1144) and (MKS1148) for preliminary recovery and prevent scale formation and corrosion (with technical office usage instructions).
Essential tips during the scale removing operation:
- Take a sample of the solution and measure the pH and TH factors at each step in the water circulating in the system.
- If pH rises to 5 in the second stage remained; Cancel the next steps and circulate the water for one hour and then drain.
- Sampling of water in the system is necessary prior to injection of the scale remover solution and during discharge.
It is advisable to consult the experts of this company to ensure the improvement of the performance of injectable additives and to determine and measure all parameters of water process measurement.
