Description
Legionella are small, aerobic and gram-negative bacilli with dimensions of 0.5 – 0.7 × 2 μm that are able to survive in waters with different temperatures and pH, nutrients and oxygen. Legionella penumophila, the main cause of Legionnaires disease and Pontiac fever, was first reported in 1997 following an outbreak of acute pneumonia in Philadelphia. After that, the bacteria has been isolated from multiple sources and from different aquatic and soil environments, and it has been found that it can be found in all water sources including water in ventilation systems, surface water, tap water, cooling tower water and hospitals hot water, and most epidemics come from these sources. It is placed by inhalation of fine particles of water carrying the bacteria in the human respiratory tract and results to disease.
Calibration of Using Mitreh 0020 Solution:
The solution contains substances and compounds that, infiltrates its structure in contact with the Legionella bacteria, and inactivates it, thereby destroying it. According to microbial analysis of contaminated source water in order to eliminate these bacteria, the amount and instructions for use by the technical experts are calculated after microbiological tests and determination of the amount and type of pollutants.
Some Physical Properties of the Solution:
Property | Property | ||
Liquid | Physical state | 8.3 – 8.5 | pH |
Creamy | Color | 94 – 97 | Boiling temperature range (˚C) |
Sharp smell | Odor | -1 – 0 | Freezing temperature range (˚C) |
