Description
Corrosion in exchangers which were made of iron alloys usually causes thick layers of corrosion products. Removing this oxide layer is important to protect the system from pitting and prevent corrosion and increase efficiency in heat transfer. It is recommended to use Mitreh 0356 solution. This solution reacts with the compounds of Fe2O3 and Fe3O4 and FeO which are corrosive products of iron alloys and form chelates with their metal ions. As a result, part or all of the corrosion products are separated from the walls and become suspended particles in the water. There isn’t high corrosion in this solution during deposition, due to the presence of anti-corrosion compounds.
Calibration of Using Mitreh 0356 Solution:
In order to eliminate corrosion products of iron alloys in exchangers with Mitreh 0356 solution, the amount of solution required is calculated depends on the volume of scale present in the system.
The scale removing operation varies depending on the system conditions. Deposition according to the following conditions:
- Feed water analysis of the system and a thorough analysis of the existing scale is required before the deposition.
- System alloys must be precisely specified to determine the corrosion rate during the deposition.
- If there is not completely clogged or severe damage and corrosion, scale removing is prohibited.
- Complete scale removing equipment such as anti-acid pumps, tanks, connecting pipes and special flanges are essential.
- Scale removing specialists and technicians should be proficient.
- The use of safety equipment such as masks, anti-acid gloves and other equipment is necessary.
- To discharge the waste water from the corrosion products and water, make necessary arrangements and discharge the waste water under the supervision of an environmental expert in a remote location and in accordance with environmental standards.
- The percentage of scale removing of these products varies from 3-90%, depending on the type of corrosion products, the operating conditions, the type of formation of corrosion products, the condition of the system for scale removing, the pressure of the pumps and chemical and physical factors.
- This solution is acidic and has a lower corrosion rate than the descalers.
- Sampling in special containers is necessary during operation.
Scale Removing Method:
- Mix the Mitreh 0356 solution with 1: 1 in pure water and immerse it in the immobilized system for 2 to 4 hours.
- Turn on the pumps after that time and circulate the solution for 1 to 6 hours.
- Discharge the solution and corrosion products and wash the system with high pressure for several times.
- Repeat the above operation if required.
