The issue of heat transfer is an important and influential issue in many industrial systems efficiency. The process of heat exchange between two fluids with different temperatures separated by a solid wall occurs in many engineering applications where in most cases water is chosen as one of the two fluids for heat transfer due to its high thermal capacity. One of the most important and costly problems that any industry faces is the formation of scales during the procedure that increase the resistance to heat transfer between the two fluids and cause corrosion in the systems. Therefore, scale inhibitor and corrosion inhibitor should be used in order to increase the efficiency of the system and to prevent deposition on the wall of the exchangers, installation surfaces and piping as well as to reduce the rate of electrochemical corrosion and general corrosion in the installations.
It is important to note that before application of the inhibitors, the system must be close to design zero point in terms of deposition; therefore, the use of scale remover prior to injection of the inhibitors is necessary.
There are various ways to remove of these scales. But none of the existing methods have 100% efficiency and may also have disadvantages for the installation and the environment.
Evaluation of the tests performed by the Research Institute of Petroleum Industry on the solution of general industrial Mitreh indicates that this solution has a very good performance in sedimentation control and corrosion control. Based on the results of the electrochemical and impedance test of carbon steel and commercial copper in the water, as soon as the Mitreh solution is added, we observe an increase in polarization resistance, indicating a very good inhibitory effect of the Mitreh solution and the results are in agreement with the results comes from TOEFL polarization test and confirms it. The results of the modeling of the corrosion process of steel and copper in water in the presence of Mitreh by an electrical equivalent circuit indicate the formation of a protective film on the metal surface that prevents the metal from corroding up to 95%.
In addition, evaluation the results of the tests performed by Research Institute of Petroleum Industry on the control of sediment deposition by Mitreh; after injection, prevent calcium sulfate deposition up to 77.7% and prevent calcium carbonate deposition up to 73.1%. Industrial Mitreh solution at a concentration of 0.1% of the total solution, or 1000 ppm, has a high ability to prevent the deposition of calcium sulfate and calcium carbonate deposits. It is worth noting that the consumption of industrial Mitreh is low and it’s unique in this respect. In general, industrial Mitreh solution can be introduced as a capable anti-scale and corrosion inhibitor used in industry.
In addition to removing scales, the solution also prevents the formation of new scales and also prevents corrosion of surfaces. The Mitreh solution has a neutral pH and, also reduces the rate of water corrosion, while not causing any corrosion in the plant thus acting as a corrosion inhibitor.
Using Mitreh as opposed to acid washing or mechanical scale removing does not need to send out the device from the circuit and stop operations (which causes wasting energy, time and cost) and not only one part, but also the entire water circulation path will be deposited. Mitreh is capable breaking the intermolecular and ionic bonds of different types of carbonate scales and the circulating water have been heavy after de-precipitation, dewatering will be done. Some Mitreh can also be injected into the system to prevent the formation of new scales and to prevent corrosion (according to the calibration table).

Calibration of Using Mitreh MSA1110 Solution:
Many of the inhibitors used, in the first few weeks have to be used twice or three times the usual amount to produce the best resistant film. This method, called preliminary treatment, can effectively improve corrosion control, especially in new systems due to the rapid formation of durable and passive film across the metal surface.
Preliminary treatment technique can be reused to compensation for disturbances and disorder of the system, pH fluctuations, the presence of corrosive pollutants, and the use of inhibitors with lower concentrations than required for a longer period than specified. This will reshape a durable protective film.
In order to prevent scale formation in different systems, the amount of solution consumption varies depending on the hardness of the inlet water, the operating conditions, the type of system and process.
To Eliminate Scales: Estimated 2 to 3 liters of solution (depending on the type of scale) per kilogram of scale added to the system. Drain water then rinse the system with water, in hot water systems for at least 2 days and in cold water systems at least 15 days after normal system operation.
