The electron is excited by absorbing a high-energy photon. The excited state is unstable and the electron tends to return to its stable state. If the electron does not return directly to the ground level and first transfers to the excited levels before reaching the ground level, then it emits photons with lower energy and longer wavelengths. These waves, which are visible to the human eye, are called fluorescence. The basis of XRF analysis is to measure the wavelength of fluorescence emitted from different atoms of the sample under test. The elements that make up the material in question are identified in this way and the amount of each element is measured by measuring the intensity of the waves.
Advantages of the XRF analysis method:
The XRF analysis device is capable of identifying and measuring many elements with high speed and accuracy. Among the advantages of XRF analysis compared to other methods of analyzing the chemical composition of minerals are the high speed of testing and the lack of use of chemicals. Traditional chemical methods, in addition to being time-consuming, are largely affected by human error of the analyst.
In industries such as steel and cement, the amount of elements in the sample is in a small and specific range. Also, the steel and cement industries require high analysis speed to make decisions on adjusting the composition. Therefore, the XRF device has a wide application in these industries. However, since purchasing an XRF analysis device involves a very high initial investment cost, not all industrial and laboratory centers are able to purchase it.
Abrizan Industrial Research Company, by providing specialized and advanced devices, including the XRF analysis device, using an experienced staff, has provided the opportunity to analyze samples of our dear customers with the best quality in the Shiraz Science and Technology Park.
