Biocide and biodispersant
Problems caused by the growth of microorganisms in facilities
The activity of living organisms such as aerobic and anaerobic bacteria, algae, fungi, molds, oysters, etc., makes the environmental conditions of the systems unfavorable. These organisms are able to grow and develop in a wide range of pH, temperature and pressure in different environments. The growth and proliferation of microorganisms can cause problems such as reducing heat transfer in the system (due to the formation of biofilms), causing extensive corrosion (such as the activity of SRB bacteria), clogging in systems and pipelines and pumps, causing disease for humans. And... Biological activity control is of great importance in many industrial activities.
Microbial corrosion in utility systems
Biologically, due to the direct contact of water with air and the environment, as well as due to the presence of polluted water in facilities, these environments are the source of the growth and development of many bacteria, microbes, viruses, algae and mosses. These microorganisms, in addition to reducing the efficiency of facilities due to the formation of a biofilm layer of organic materials, are also the source of the spread of pollution and human diseases. On the other hand, some microscopic organisms such as bacteria, fungi and all types of macroscopic organisms such as algae and marine animals in the installation systems cause the phenomenon of microbial corrosion. In some systems, especially open circuit cooling systems that have high microbial contamination and a high volume of algae has been created in the system parts, the microbial load of the system should be quickly returned to the standard range. There are extensive methods to eliminate these problems, the most common of which is the use of chemicals such as biocides.
All types of corrosion control biocides
Biocides are compounds that are used to destroy or exert controlling effects on any microorganism and eliminate the conditions of microbiological degradation. These materials are used as antifouling or disinfectant agents under controlled conditions and are divided into two general categories: oxidizing biocides and non-oxidizing biocides. The effectiveness of biocides varies based on the concentration, method of injection, type of biocide and the duration of its use. In the following, the biocide solutions produced by Abrizan company are introduced:
Special biocide for R.O. devices
Isothiazoline based biocide
Glutaraldehyde based biocide
Biocide based on ammonium salts
Oxidizing biocides
Oxidizing biocides with controlled corrosion rates
Non-oxidizing biocides of the combined base specifically for polluted waters with a lot of algae
special biodispersants for disintegrating microbial colonies (biofilms)
