Flocculant and polyelectrolyte
Coagulants in water treatment
The process of coagulation and flocculation has a special place in water purification, so that many studies have been conducted regarding the type of optimal coagulant to remove turbidity. Coagulants include substances that are used to destabilize charged suspended particles and stick them together. These particles have a negative or positive electric charge, and the coagulant materials used usually have a positive, negative or no electric charge, which neutralize and precipitate the suspended particles in water.
Types of miter coagulants
The substances that cause turbidity in water include clay, virus, bacteria, folic and humic acid, minerals such as asbestos, silicate and radioactive particles. In order to choose the right coagulant as well as its right dose in the purification process, Jartest is used in different conditions. Types of coagulants are introduced below:
Anionic and cationic coagulants
Anionic, cationic and uncharged polymeric flocculants
Anionic, cationic and uncharged polyelectrolytes
